Hand painted and truly unique 100% silk scarf.
The colours were carefully hand painted onto seven separate warps, then carefully threaded on the loom to preserve the staggered effect of the colours. I used an ondulé or fan reed in order to create the curves. Where the stripes are narrow, the colours are more solid. Where they are wider the black of the weft comes through. Each colour eases into the next, sometimes creating more colours.
It is truly unique.
