In The Pink
Before Christmas I sold a lot of wider items. So just for a change, I have started a shawl that will be approximately 64 cms (25 inches) wide. As you may or may not know, usually my warps are 100% pure silk. This time I am using up some ‘In The Pink’ cashmere/silk yarn that I bought last year.
The blend of cashmere and silk creates a fabric with the softness and warmth of cashmere and the luxurious feel of silk. The woven result is a smooth fabric with a delicate and exquisite feel.
I will use a lace-type draft which means the finished item should be light, soft and airy. Summer evenings spring to mind even though it is still winter
As per usual, I have warped enough for two shawls; one will be woven with the same yarn and the second one with a silk. I haven’t decided which colour yet though. What do you suggest?
